This was our first experience of b & b in New Zealand, and what a high standard John & Lesley set. Even before we arrived, Lesley had been to a lot of trouble to book senior citizens rates for the trans-scenic train (not possible from UK). We were welcomed with home made cake and tea and advised as to the... more

We had a warm, genuine welcome, with wine and cheese offered. The room was clean, well furnished and very comfortable. Breakfast just right. Lesley and John were charming hosts, treating us like their friends - so much so that they didn't let on that in fact we had booked for the wrong night and weren't expected until the following night. more

Lesley & John gave us a very warm welcome indeed when we started our NZ holiday witha two day stay in Christchurch - starting with a welcoming cup of coffee and cake and later evening drinks and nibbles. They gave us some good tips on sites and scenes around Christchurch and also other places on our trip and also good... more

Had a wonderful long weekend staying with John and Lesley, excellent hosts offering a friendly, welcoming environment. They collected us from airport, shared drink and nibbles in the evening before we went out, offered lots of practical advice and gave several options for breakfast. Rooms were clean, tastefully decorated, well equipped and a wonderful quiet home.Central to the city and... more

This is my first trip in New Zealand- Christchurch. I went with my colleague who is a good friend of the host John and Leslie. We had warmest welcome. They let me felt that I was in my home not in a holiday that always rushes you. The room was so comfortable and the food was wonderful especially for the... more

We spent two wonderful days with John and Leslie, beginning with the warm welcome at the airport and fresh homemade scones and tea at their home. We felt like we had come to visit friends. Delicious breakfasts, afternoon wine, and conversation made for a delightful stay in Christchurch. We definitely recommend Greatstay to all. We hope we can extend the... more

Great! Comfortable room, tasty breakfast and lovely hosts. We really enjoyed our stay here. Hosts John & Lesley are elegant and friendly, they gave us a warm welcome. Chatting a lot about each trip and family over coffee and cakes served, we felt like we're coming to our uncle and aunt's place. It was just great stay. Thanks. more

John and Lesley were warm and friendly, providing plenty of cups of tea, tasty breakfast and good conversation. We were also very grateful for the recommendation to visit the embroidery exhibition at the nearby Buddhist centre. The bed was GREAT, much better than ours at home. Overall this was a wonderful place to stay. more

What a lovely place to stay! We were warmly greeted with a welcome tea/coffee and homemade cake. The rooms and beds were so very comfortable and such a nice location near the park. (Worth going for a walk through). We stayed with Lesley and John on our arrival in Christchurch and again 2 weeks later before our flight home. Lesley... more

John was wonderful, personable and shared his extensive knowledge re traveling the South Island. John picked us up at the airport (at no additional charge) and we appreciated that. Their home was not very close to the city centre (unless you're a "walker"). If you are a traveler who likes to be in the center of things or the center... more
