stayed at Ibis in Feb 2011. its at an apt location.. you can walk to most of the places from Ibis. The cathedral square is a 1 min walk. the rooms were small but clean. But the view from my room was not so great.

This is a standard Ibis quality hotel.
It was a little hard to get to the hotel as most of the roads were closed when we arrived. Other wise it is a good location, this hotel is just behind the Cathedral Square where basically where everything starts here in the square.

We stayed in Jan for 5 nights with our 5 year old in the Ibis Christchurch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is centrally located behind Cathedral Square. The rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. Value wise, it was exceptional because we booked our room during the Accor Hotel 50% special.
