We wanted to stay in a suburb, as we are looking to move to NZ in the future. Shirley is apparently very popular with Brits. We had a two bedroom unit, with an extra bed in the lounge. The kitchen area had 2 hotplates and a microwave, along with fridge, kettle toaster. The lounge had sofa and table with chairs. The bathroom had shower and separate bath. Both bedrooms were a good size with double and single in each. Hotel has it's own restauarant on site, although we didn't use it. It was our last night in NZ so we went bake to Cafe Bleu, where we had had an excellent time earlier in the trip. Handy for the Palm Mall. Outside our unit was a shared grassy area, with picnic table. When we checked out we went to the Antarctic experience, which was fantastic. We went on the Hagglund ride, over crevices, up and down hills and through a small pond that was apparently twice as deep as the vehicle! Experienced an arctic storm and watched the penguins being fed.
