Driving along George St. looking for a motel on Melbourne Cup Day and we stopped at Farry's as they were displaying a Vacancy sign. After agreeing to the rate they then directed us to our room/apartment which was located about 150 metres away on the other side of the street. Nothing wrong with the room although it looked to be somekind of ex-gov't facility that had been converted into accommodation. Quite spacious, good bed and no complaints although access to the place was a little weird. You would never find it without clear directions. A pleasant enough experience. I suspect there are better places to stay. more
