A very nice place set in an old mansion with plenty of land around it. The hotel is beautiful and very romantic and only has 8 rooms which are all different themes. Rooms are interesting, clean and comes with different small and really nice goodies - organic sodas, nice local soaps etc. The breakfast was fantastic and they will cook... more

Corstorphine Hose is a unique and eclectic hotel whose 7 acres sit in a close suburb of downtown Dunedin. A renovated Edwardian manor house whose rooms are decorated and named by country (we were in the Egyptian Room, as opposed to the Japanese, Scottish, or French). All are very well done and adds to the odd charm of the place.... more

WOW!!! Travelled to NZ between christams and new year 2007 and booked Corstorphine House for New Years Eve and New Years Day. I initially thought the Hotel was out in the country, however it is tucked away on a hillside in the suburbs. The directions provided by the staff were excellent and after negotiating the automatic gates on the drive... more

Our trip to New Zealand was planned far in advance and it was the one of lived up expectations. Dunedin and Corstorphine House was recommended to us by one small agency in Moscow, who happened to mention that British Royal family member chose to stay in that XIX century mansion during his last visit. We were truly impressed during our... more

Having travelled through the North and South Island and stayed at various hotels/Motels and B&B’s, Corstorphine house was definitely a cut above the rest in terms of the accommodation that was on offer. If you are reading this having read some of the not so good reviews on the website then we can assure you that this is a stunning... more

I really enjoyed my stay in this very special boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly and the surroundings are awsom. I loved to be at a quiet place, out of the city center; the garden was beautiful to wander through for a short walk and close to place are all kind of nice beaches and other areas of interest.... more

This is a beautiful B&B in which each of the rooms is decorated in the style of a particularly country (we stayed in both the Egyptian Room, which was lovely, and the Scottish Room, which is on the first floor so it has more noise but it is gigantic and stunning). The owners, Nico and Irina, were warm and welcoming... more

My partner and I stayed here in December 2005 - we had been travelling around NZ for 1 month and were impressed with most of the accommodation until this place. In no particular order: 1. my partner's new jumper was ripped when it returned from their laundry facility. The staff tried to suggest the jumper was ripped prior to being... more

Just a word of extreme caution for any tourist who assumes that this hotel is within walking distance of the city centre- it is a ten minute drive by taxi from the city centre, and for those who don't have a car, at least an hour walk up and down hills. Watch out for their cancellation policy, which they don't... more

We are sorry to hear that your member was disappointed. We try to give our guests as much information as possible. We publish excellent maps on our web-site and in our brochure. Dunedin is a small town and most destinations are within easy reach. Most of our guests come by (rental) car and we generally hear that our location is...
