“Faultless service, makes the most of heritage site”

“Mercure Hotel Dunedin”

We thought this hotel was very over priced. It was very tired - fraying carpet, dowdy ambience. We had a complaint during our stay which was handly poorly by reception staff, but when the Manager was involved it was dealt with without fault.

Hotel is old but plenty of character. We took advantage of parking the car as felt it was safer than finding street parking. Staff were efficient but not very friendly. Room was perfectly acceptable but little on the small side. Probably because of the age of the building.Handy to most places.

“Would tell friends to find alternative”

Rather underwhelming experience with almost all staff members...check in experience disappointing in terms of no personality, and everything felt like a major effort (not naturally customer friendly). Room is clean, functional. Breakfast is a let down.

We originally booked this hotel for 2 nights, ended up staying for 3. Staff at check in were excellent. The hotel rooms were pretty much the same as would expect at Mercure properties, it was in a good position for getting to everything, with off site valet parking available. Close to restaurants,public transport and the i site (tourist information site).

“My stay at Mercure Dundedin”

The staff were lovely - High praise for their attitude and service. No complaints at all. The room was very small, no wardrobe even,. The bed was comfy but the sleep was disturbed by loud noises coming from the lift (right next door). Quite handy to town and casino. All in all, not too bad.

While staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a total dump, with very small and leaky bathroom. The side panels on shower/bath unit were falling off and the wash basin was cracking.
