Perhaps it was the ghost of the kitchen maid wheezing in the chimney all night, perhaps it was the holy spirit of the original Christian Brothers, perhaps it was just the brisk Scottish Dunedin air. But it didn't stop us have a heavenly good night's sleep- I actually thought it was the sound of the sea.( But that was the... More

We stayed for 2 nights during Jan 2012 and had a wonderful experience. We had a very warm welcome and were introduced to the city and its surroundings by the very knowledgeable stuff. Breakfast was plenty and delicious - we need nothing more than fresh fruits, muesli and a yoghurt. The room was tidy and as we stayed on the... More

This was a great find, a nice change to the bigger hotels. We had a warm welcome and found the staff really helpful, lots of advice available for our trip. The room wasn't very big but was super clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a good start to the day. Highly recommended as a central base - as long as... More

I have stayed here twice. I like the character and the location . The standard rooms are plainly decorated in earthy colours in keeping with the monastic history and relatively small, but they have everything you need and are spotlessly clean as are the bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable. There are great views over the city from the balcony. The... More

We had received a warm welcome from the receptionist - or the boss that we found in the end of the day. The room is clean though a bit small. The hotel itself should be a good place to visit in Dunedine as well. We do like the old British style, the breakfast, the balcony as well as the living... More

Good points : very comfortable rooms. I stayed in the queen with access to the balcony. Owners are very welcoming, breakfast is included and is worth it. Bad points : only the location as it is up in the hills (hence the amazing views). Go here as it well worth it. More

I stayed here in October 2011. Nice place, comfortable bedroom and a pretty good location in Dunedin. But, it's a bit of a stretch to call the place a boutique hotel. It's more like a nice largish B&B which the owners have stretched it to become a hotel. So, it's neither. I'd still recommend staying here. I was well looked... More

Very reasonable priced rooms , had a smallish room but thats probably because i booked last thing , i like the ambience and quaintness of lodgings so this ticked all the boxes for me , great host , great nights sleep , and a scrummie breakfast , i will definitely be back sometime. More

The wife and I arrived in Dunedin in the early afternoon to this beautiful B&B in the heart of Dunedin. We arrived a bit later than we expected due to the still-snowy weather in Queenstown (we were traveling during the storm that nearly shut the whole south island down), but were were met by the extremely friendly and helpful manager... The hotel is very centrally located (although it is a steep walk back up from the centre) and in a beautiful old building. I would definitely stay here again, although I would book a slightly bigger room. By the time we booked for the rugby world cup only the smallest room was left and it is small (although the website... More
