Amazing accommodation, food and people. I highly recommended to anyone who wants a base in this part of the South Island - plus a bit of Victorian elegance and luxury while you're at it! The rooms are stunning, with fantastic views and the food is to die for (I recommend the steak, but make sure you leave room for dessert!). Really good value for money too. Very friendly owners and two very cute cats make this place feel really relaxed and homely. I can't recommend Mainholm enough - we haven't found anywhere else like it and we'll certainly be going back.
