There was nothing and no one that disappointed here - I forgot my overnight bag with my bathing suit - and they had bathing suit rentals at the front desk, which was a lifesaver. The staff were just really nice, friendly folks and the rooms were clean and really lovely, situated on lovely grounds. The checkout by 10 am is... more

The Ascot Park is slightly out of the city centre. The rooms are motel style and are very clean however our mattress had seen better days - my boyfriend had serious back trouble the following day! The hotel has a gym, swimming pool, spa and restaurant and the staff were friendly enough. Having said all of this this hotel represents... more

When we first arrived we were a little disappointed with the look of the rooms outside. However, our impressions changed quickly when we went in the motel. The motel section is old, but has been renovated nicely and was very clean, spacious and welcoming. Excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. It was nice to be part of the larger hotel complex... more

We stayed at the motel part of this large complex for one night and I wished we'd stayed for more. The unit was old and unglamorous but super clean, warm, spacious and homey. For $100 we had a lounge room, a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. There was an abundance of towels; the sheets were super clean and... more

This was a very pleasant hotel, large but still very welcoming. DH and I stayed one night, after a long drive from Dunedin through the Catlins (a highly recommended journey though). Situated on the edge of town, it was very easy to find, clean, and with many welcome amenities. The small pool is well-maintained and there was no one else... more

Firstly, this place is huge. It offers both hotel and motel rooms and we were given a map on arrival to find our hotel room. After staying in small towns/villages for the previous week, this was a shock to our system. The hotel room we had was massive and easily the largest standard room I've ever stayed in. There was... more

Booked in on spec. Mid price rooms good value. Facilities good - used free laundry room (including materials) extensively. OK restaurant but bar meals good. more

Undergoing renovation worth $4million, however, provided king sized room with separate huge spa bath. Rooms very nicely furnished and very spacious. Swimming pool available at no extra cost. Restaurant reasonably priced. Internet only via wireless hotspot. and expensive. Despite the disruption caused by the building work, this is a lovely place, albeit on the outskirts of the town. $153 for... more

Not sure what the definition of a hotel i thought it was a tall building - anyway - this is sort of a motorlodge (1 level ) place on quite large grounds but is all connected. Parking is plentiful and outside your room. Rooms are linked internally but each one has external entrance as well. Rooms are average - not... more
