We stayed at Blanket Bay for a relaxing weekend and could not have asked for anything more. The scenery is beautiful, the lodge is stunning and has a very relaxed atmosphere, the staff couldn't have been better without being over-bearing and the food was also great. Having read a recent review on Eric, we can confirm we found him helpful... more

Blanket Bay is a beautiful hotel with a stunning view. The interior is romantic and it has excellent facilities. The restaurant is very good, although not exceptional. The rooms are clean, the beds are great, bath and shower great. Hot tub, steam bath and swimming pool beautiful. Only one of the waiters, Eric, was not really delightful, a complaint that you... more

This is hands down the best place I have ever stayed. I have nothing but good things to say. The scenery was spectacular. The rooms were comfortable, spotless, and filled with perks. The staff are so on top of things that you never run into housekeeping. They know when you are down at breakfast or out sightseeing and they clean... more

My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights in a Lodge Suite in late January. I've stayed at many great properties around the world, but this was one of the best all-around experiences I've ever had. I would go back immediately without hesitation. First, the property itself is wonderful. It's situated in an isolated corner of the huge &... more

A truly fantastic lodge resort, excellent and outstandingly hospitable staff, genuine attention to detail, first class food and really comfortable well appointed rooms. The highlight of the trip was the landing of a helicopter on the lawn to take me on a personal trip over the Southern Alps. The only negative (and regrettably a common feature of the very high... more

My husband and i stayed here with another couple to celebrate my 40th birthday. We booked the Richardson staterooms which were just lovely. These are one building with 2 identical bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms at either end of the building and a living room, small kitchenette and cloakroom in the middle. Both bedrooms and the living room had fireplaces with... more

When you read the reviews it is clear that this is a outstanding property. Believe me that they do not convey how special Blanket Bay is. It is simply the best lodge/ hotel I have ever had stayed in. Call ahead and let the staff help you plan your stay and activities. There is a lot to do and they... more

We drove (10 hours) from Christchurch and were totally blown away by the scenery. We thought we were nearly there at Queenstown but it was a further amazing drive along the lake, over 20 miles hardly seeing a building or other car, with the deep blue colour of the lake and the fantastic view to the mountains along the other... more

I am a bit late in writing this review I know. However, I was posting others and realized I hadn't posted from my trip to New Zealand last year. This is an extremely nice lodge. It is so comfortable and quiet and the views of Lake Wakatipu are stunning. The staff is so friendly. The rooms are plush and luxurious.... more

My husband and I spent our Babymoon at Blanket Bay--and it exceeded our expectations-as did New Zealand!!! The drive to the lodge is scenic and pristine-about 40 minutes from the airport-you are in the middle of nowhere-just what we wanted!!! Upon our arrival we were greeted at our car by the general manager and requested to leave everything in the... more
