Friendly service, excellent advice and very helpful even though we arrived late and did not have a reservation. The view from the room in the morning was just breathtaking. Loved it. A minor point is that the breakfast arrangements are not to the same standard as the rest of the hotel more

We spent 3 nights here, either side of visiting Milford Sounds. The room had two balconies both with wonderful views. The rooms were spacious and well furnished. The walk to town was downhill, the walk back quite a struggle for us pensioners - but is was worth it for the location of the hotel. The food in the restaurant was... more

We heartily recommend this hotel. Yes it's a short walk out of the centre of town, but the views from the bedrooms are fanatstic. The food is also of good quality, and staff friendly and helpful. more

The hotel room is a little dated but perfectly adequate and good value for money. I paid for the cheapest room and received an upgrade to a Lake view which was nice. It's about a 15 minute walk into town and the walk back is a bit uphill but not too bad. more

The beds were *frickin* uncomfortable man! I have never had such a bad night's sleep in a hotel. The mattress was Hard and pillows obviously YEARS old, resulting in lumpy, flat uncomfortableness!!! Despite that, it was in a very pretty area, and the staff were very nice. Just need some better pillows and mattresses! more

Pleasant enough place. Neither particularly good nor particularly bad. Within walking distance of downtown Queenstown. Clearly relies heavily upon groups transported by bus. Indoors parking. No exercise facility, although guests can use the sub-par facility across the street. TV's are old. Internet unnecessarily expensive. more

I would definitely recommend this place as one of the nicest hotels to stay In Queenstown. There is so much accommodation in town and many of the places are older style and over priced but the Copthorne is not one of them. It came recommended via the Tourist Info office on Shotover St, Queenstown (great bunch of people working there).... more
