I was expecting much more, given the NZD$275 rate for a lakeview junior suite. Service was poor. They didn't have our reservation for the first of our two stays (they did have the reservation for the second stay) and they only grudgingly gave us a room. Though slighly outsite of town, the Heritage sits on a bluff above the lake with great views of the surrounding area. They have a bus that runs by every 30 minutes for a quick 5 minute trip to town. A good hotel, about 15 minutes walk out of central Queenstown. A bus comes along every 30 mins and is free if staying at the hotel. The style is a bit like a lodge - fireplaces, trout above the fireplaces, that sort of thing. Reception all very good and helpful. Fresh milk in the room to go with your tea.... more

Not an easy hotel to get used to as it has 3 separate wings- Lakeside, Forest and Waterfall. Also across the road are some apartments.
