We splurged and went for a lake view room. We were given a room on the bottom level - floor 0. We asked to be relocated to a higher floor, but everything was booked. Despite being on the bottom floor the view was really good - thanks to mother nature. The room itself was 'tired' looking and the bathroom was... more

This hotel was a disappointment. The furnishing was shabby, the room was too hot but had no airconditioning and the window of my room faced the neighbours, so it was hard to be comfortable and maintain privacy. Staff were not very helpful or knowledgable about the area. Food from room service was terrible. And it is not a good location... more

Rooms were tidy, if not a little dated. Hotel was in the midst of some renovations, so they are updating as we speak. The view from the rooms and dining areas over the lake and mountains takes your breath away. Staff are helpful and their pub menu hits the spot. There is a shuttle (day fare is available) that runs... more

This hotel has nothing short of amazing views of beautiful Queenstown! Sadly the rooms are dreadful. The carpet in the 4th floor rooms is all water damaged and in urgent need of replacement. And the rooms need some pretty serious money spent on them. In fact, given that I just stayed in the Mercure Welcome Melbourne 2 weeks earlier I... more

I ordered a steak sandwich and side vegetables from the bar. (The place was that quiet that the restaurant was not open). It took 25 minutes to arrive even though I was the ONLY customer there. The portion was small and it was cold. Unbelievable considering I was the only person there. I went to complain and had to go... more

The staff at the hotel couldn't have been more helpful. The kids had a great time in the pool, although a little chilly. The tennis court was a bonus too, with racquets and balls provided for nothing. Got the room for NZ$115 , so great value as the children (13&12) eat free when an adult purchases a breakfast. Best value... more

Very friendly and helpful staff. Spacious bathroom. A wonderful scenic view of the lake. Bus service to town on the shopper bus for $4.50. Internet available by the 1/2 hour. Used the gym for a morning work out. Also has a sauna and tennis courts. No cons whatsoever. If a room is available, this is the place for you! Length... more

This was our first visit to Queenstown, travelling with another couple who had stayed at this resort in 2005. This hotel is situated about 5 mins away from the main streets of Queenstown, however it was easy to get transport in - taxi fare was around $8 NZ, or the shopper bus called in approx every 30 minutes. We also... more

Apparently the Mercure chain just took this place over. If that's the case, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they haven't gotten around to improving it. It was dirty and dingy. The room smelled and it was too far outside of town. The restaurant and bar were crowded with people on bus tours. Not even the view,... more
