We moved out of another (poor) hotel in Queenstown into this one. The staff were friendly and the accommodation was great. The reception helped us book into the Jet Boat and the Segways - it was no bother to them. Highly recommend this establishment. More

Great location opposite Lake Wakatipu with a view to the Remarkables mountain range and just a 5 minute flat walk along the lake shore to fantastic food, drink and shopping in Queenstown. I booked the most expensive room on their website (the junior suite). It was a long walk down a tired dingy dark corridor to the room. The room... More

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in December and was my personal favourite hotel. The service was excellent, the pool was lovely and never overcrowded and as for the views!! Just superb. Only drawback was the size of the room but seriously, who cares? Things to try....The luge, Skyline restaurant is cool but we loved the relaxed setting... More

I stayed at Ridges late January for four days. The view was fantastic from my room but that was about all that was. I expected more from a Ridges hotel. The carpets were dirty and the bathroom just had lino on the floor it was very outdated but clean however a cleaning bottle was behind the door for four days.... More

Took a "suite offer" from an email advert..... offered lake views as a part of the deal. We were on the 4th floor and our lake view was of a large flat rooftop with plastic vents adorning it. If you walked from the room across this large concrete roof (about 15m) you could peer over the buttress and see the... More

We chose Rydges in Queenstown, N.Z. because it advertised a special deal, incl. "free wi-fi, hot tub, swimming pool". OK, fine. But when we got there, the wi-fi was only available in the bar, and AFTER you've bought a drink; even then, it was sketchy, and the connection kept cutting off. Eventually, it didn't work at all. The pool was... More

Great location on the flat near town, but the hotel is very tired, no air con, felt sorry for the staff struggling with a bad product. We upgrded to a suite for a reasonable cost, however it was so noisy that it ruined our stay anyway. The views from most rooms are to the lake which is fine, but it... More

We were recommended to the Rydges Hotel by the i-Site Information Centre in Queenstown and it was a good choice. While there are some areas in the hotel, particularly the decoration, which are looking tired, the bed was very comfortable and the linen spotless. The hotel faces the lake and with a room on the 10th floor overlooking the lake... More

The good - the front desk reception staff, we found them cheerful, welcoming and very very helpful. The bad- Internet prices are ridiculous and lack of access outrageous. In this day and age who has a "business centre" that consists of 3 old slow desk tops - where is the wireless????. The very very ugly - the dreadful woman in the... More
