Just wanted to express my dissapointment with Rydges Queenstown. We stayed in a bunk room - Yes thats right bunks....in Rydges (who would have thought) If I wanted to sleep in bunks then I would have stayed at a hostel! The sheets and pillows were dirty, bathrooms old and run down, fridge wasn't plugged in and the hallways always smelt... more

The service was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a deluxe lake view room on the 7th florr. To get parking we had to drive back towards tthe city center, take the first left and continue up to the back of the hotel. Okay, but could have been easier to find in the dark.... more

My partner & I stayed here for two nights. As we arrived quite late on Friday night reception was empty so we were able to check in straight away. When I originally made the booking I asked about the carparking and was advised they had a large, complimentary carpark on site. When we checked in, we asked again and were... more

My husband & I stayed 1 night at Rydges Queenstown. We waited 10 minutes to check in at 6pm as there was only staff member on and 2 groups waiting in front of us. While waiting, a couple came to the front desk saying they had just checked in and their room was freezing... this was not a good start.... more

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us in beautiful Queenstown. I have noted your comments on the car park directions and addressed then accordingly. I have also passed on your kind comments to the Executive Chef regarding breakfast. Again thank you and we look forward to hosting you again in Queenstown. Kind regards...

Stayed at Rydges Lakeland for 2 nights in a deluxe room, located on the 2nd floor. All the lake facing rooms on this floor share a large balcony, which is the rooftop of the lower level. They only have curtains (no nets), so if you are watching tv on the bed with the curtains open, people may be able to... more

I stayed here for one night with my wife on 23 April, and we were assigned room 605. Normally I would describe the hotel and facilities in some detail, however on this occasion I will simply transcribe the feedback card which I left with reception (with my address) the following morning at checkout. I did not receive any response to... more

Thank you for your feedback. I must apologise for the obvious displeasure you experienced. All guest comments are addressed by me and I am at a loss why you have not received a response. The room booked is the Sleep and Go economy room. We also offer Superior, Deluxe and Suites all with fantastic views of the lake. In addition,...

We stayed for two nights at the end of May and had requested a Deluxe twin room with balcony and lake view; we also asked to have a room as high as possible but was given a room on the second floor. Check-in was OK but we had trouble understanding an Asian receptionist when we asked about moving to a... more

We arrived to a beautiful classy looking hotel after 12 hours of long tiring drive from Christchurch. As soon as we walked into the hotel lobby, we were all greeted by a unfriendly Japanese girl who couldn't speak proper English. I booked the Budget double rooms through hotel-club.net and I assumed there would be 2 double beds in each room... more

Thank you for bringing to my attention the obvious displeasure you experienced with one of our team. The staff member mentioned is usually very good, in particular when dealing with the variety of nationalities staying in the hotel. I have addressed your concerns with the relevant team member. Kind Regards John McIlwain General Manager

A friend of ours made our reservations at this hotel. I read the reviews, and was concerned. It seems that the hotel has worked on their staff, as they were friendly and helpful. The bar was a nice place to spend some time, with good service. We only had breakfast at the restaurant, and it was good. The problem is... more
