The first impression as you drive up is one of it being a bit special. That lasts 10 seconds until you walk in the front door and realise there are 8 steps down to the lobby, and no ramp, and no-one to help with the bags. From that bad start it got worse, as there were 3 steps up inside... more

We prepaid for this hotel and were not told at the time that we did that that the health club and jacuzzi/spa were under construction. We only found that out when we got there and was told that they would pay for us to take a cab to another hotel so we could use their jacuzzi and then take a... more

Being a New Zealand resident maybe I'm being a bit hard on the Mercure Grand Hotel St Moritz when compared to how overseas guest might view this property but I have to say there were areas where I was disappointed. Namely the check in, which was slow then the room amenities (lack of) and comfort of the bed (very soft),... more

Very nice hotel with exceptionally helpful staff. Always a smile on their faces. We stayed in a room over the driveway which was not ideal but did not keep us awake as much as some according to their reviews. Room clean, bed very comfortable. Breakfast a little pricey for what you get so decided to eat in town thereafter. The... more

On arrival the valet was there to park the car & take our luggage straight away. Check-in was a breeze & we upgraded our 1 bedroom suite to a water view for only $30.00NZD per night extra. It was worth it the view over the lake was great. Hotel is immaculately clean & decor very classy but comfortable. I alike... more

Staying here was like staying in heaven. My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in March 2008. We were greeted by smiling, friendly staff at the check-in desk and they were so efficient that by the time we had our room key our suitcases had already been delivered to our room. We stayed in a King Suite which... more

We were in a suite at the front with excellent lake views. The accomodation was well planned with kitchen area (sink, washer/drier, fridge m/wave and plenty of utensils & crockery), lounge with sofa, armchair, large cabinet with cupboards, tv. The separate bedroom had a large double bed, wardrobe, chest and another tv. The bathroom had basin, wc, shower & separate... more

Make sure you book a room overlooking the lake. The rooms at the back are noisy from traffic coming and going (including coaches early morning) and seem very dark needing a light on even during the day. We had a back room for the first night but asked to be upgraded for the second night. Our lake view was an... more

I was out a bit late with my bookings, all hotels (good hotels) were booked so I "was forced" to choose St Moritz. After a miserable stay at the Queenstown Crowne Plaza I was on a bad mood, disliked the hike up hill and was put off by the exterior of St Moritz. But once inside it all changed. Staff... more

Don't get me wrong - this is a nice hotel, and our room size was very generous, and all-in-all the facilities were ok maintained. However, if you are after sleep - forget the rooms to the street. Traffic on the street is not the main problem here, as it is fairly moderate at night. But the driveway to the hotel... more
