I am not one to be hypercritical. At the outset let me just say that for a low-end ski lodge this was above average. But for other purposes, it was below average. We were touring the area for its sights. The Aspen was friendly and comfortable. Although a little out of town, the public bus picks you up from the doorstep and so will most tour buses. Views from the room weren't an issue for us since we were out during the daylight and couldn't see anything at night! Would highly recommend. more

My girlfriend and I were down in Queenstown to ski and this place was a perfect base, although a good 25 minute walk into central queenstown. In this region you are more likley to have a car and the extra five minute drive out of town is worth it for the views. Excellent value for money and a great alternative... more

We booked a special via Wotif. The complex is not so large and we were initially dissapointed that we did not have a view. Look around for somewhere else, this hotel needs a bit of renovation. This hotel is not very close to the centre of Queenstown up a very steep hill. The hotel is situated overlooking the lake in Queenstown, giving a magnificent view onto the lake and mountains.
