We don't give many 5-star reviews and our criteria might be different from others, but this made the grade for us. A warm and welcoming host when we arrived, a clean classic room with a lovely balcony overlooking the courtyard and beyond to the city, beer and wine in the fridge, wireless internet, comfortable public areas, free and convenient parking,... more

Browns Boutique was the accommodation highlight of our entire trip through New Zealand. Everything about the place made for a comfortable and luxurious stay - from the comfy, pillow-filled beds, to the lovely views (with the cutest windows ever), to the delicious made to order breakfast, to the spotlessly clean rooms! But what really makes Browns a standout are the... more

We stayed for 4 nights at the Brown's Boutique Hotel. I would highly recommend it! The rooms and beds were very comfortable, and we had great views of the city. The morning breakfast they served was delicious, and the owners (Jillian and Donald) couldn't be nicer. They gave us great restaurant and shopping recommendations and it was a very short... more

Given the pictures on the website and previous reviews we were somewhat disappointed with Browns boutique. It should not be described as a 'boutque' hotel- as it is just average. more

We enjoyed our stay at Browns in 2005 and made a point of returning there on our second NZ tour in 2008. We weren't disappointed. The rooms are clean, spacious and well furnished with comfortable super king size beds. The ensuite bathroom was excellent. The fridge was stocked with complimentary wine and beer. Most of the rooms overlook a sunny... more

We spent four wonderful nights here and loved every minute. It is steps away from everything Queenstown has to offer yet far enough away to be quiet. The views are fantastic, beds and bath are quite comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty, and on the nights before the two days we were out before breakfast was served, Alex delivered a tasty... more

We stayed at Brown's for our first night in New Zealand, and we were sorry we did not stay longer. Our room and balcony overlooking the lake were among the best accomodations we had (and we stayed in some very nice places!). Breakfast was great, Alex was waiting for us when we arrived, free beer and wine were in the... more

I guess I was under the impression that "boutique" meant fancy. This is not the case at Browns. It's a simple, small hotel; definately not a luxurious place. Our room was nicely sized and airy with a Juliet balcony that had a nice view as long as you looked up. If you look down, you had a view into the... more

We loved Brown’s. The location is a very short walk from the city center but far enough removed to have a quiet environment. We stayed in Room 10, which was spacious, well decorated, had a great bed (I slept soundly) and a lovely view of the lake below. The staff stocks the mini fridge with a (free) sampling of NZ... more

We stayed at Browns for 3 nights as part of a honeymoon in NZ. We found the place to be a very good small hotel. The location is convenient to the Queenstown city centre (albeit a bit of an uphill walk back to the hotel) and has great views of the town and the lake. The manager was extremely friendly... more
