This place was excellent! we went and skiied the first few days of the season here and the staff fixed us right up! they got brand new blankets which was super cool as QT can get cold! they had central heating! i have only seen this here and one other hostel in wanaka on my NZ trip! so i lucked... more

We paid walked into our room...and walked straight out. The heater (which doubles as a fire Hazard) did not work and our room in the middle of the day was 5 degrees celcius. the mattresses were 10cm thick with no thick blankets. the windows did not lock. Stayed in a double room here for 7 nights. TV in room and tea/coffee. Great location and atmosphere. Spa pool and bbq area out the back which would be great in summer. I loved the Black Sheep, the staff were great and very helpful! they helped me book a few cheaper trips and even gave me a free beer from there onsite bar!!!!
