A friend and I stayed here as part of the Contiki group, but through Contiki we had requested twin-share, so our room was a lot better than those who were on quad-share. Pros: The rooms were very clean and well insulated. The facilities were of good standard, but the TV was not the best. Having said that, my friend and... more

Located just out of town, but a very steep uphill walk if not driving. Great views over lake and mountains. The whole place seems very tired, holes in carpet from wear. Breakfast was included which was a good spread. There was also free parking. The major problem was the noise from rooms on either side, the walls were so thin... more

This place is not really a hotel - a hostel maybe or backpackers is more accurate. We booked at the last minute and probably got a substandard room as a result - really small, not very clean, thin walls, noisy, dingy - the only good thing was the view! The whole place looks rundown - carpets fraying, old and in... more

If you're looking for a nice place to stay in Queenstown at a decent price, but don't want to worry about being shacked up with some a$$hole backpackers who keep you up all night having sex in the bunk below you and puking (yeah, that happened to us), Queenstown Lodge is a nice option. It's priced pretty well, with clean... more

We had a fantastic time at Queenstown Lodge. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms and had a great view of the lake and snow capped mountains. Room was very clean and great heating (which was a refreshing change from some of the places we stayed in the South Island in winter!) Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and... more

We stayed here for 2 full weeks, the staff were just wonderful, and the room was excellent. The room was clean and we had an amazing veiw over the snow capped mountains. The location was great out of town enough to stay away from the noise and close enough to walk or catch the shuttle or town bus. The spa's... more

I stayed at the Queentstown Lodge whilst travelling with Contiki around NZ. The first night I stayed in a quad-share room (as this is the standard for Contiki). The room was terrible: 2 bunkbeds, 10sqm for 4 people, a small window facing the backside - so no view. As I found this a very inappropriate stay for me I decided... more

From the beginning, I was unimpressed with Queenstown Lodge and I regretted choosing to stay at this hotel. The claim that it is a 10 min walk into town is completely false. The rooms were unclean. We had to delay our check-in as the room was not ready, yet we had someone knocking on our door exactly at 10am on... more

The main lodge itself was a bit dated and had the atmosphere of a college hangout. We had one of the apartment rooms which was very spacious and had a killer view. We were lucky not to have any neighbors during our stay as the walls are a bit thin. The kitchen area of the apartment was one of the... more

Could not talk highly enough about our stay at the Queenstown Lodge. We booked the one bedroom apartment for 5 nights, coming in at around $100 a night (they have a deal on the web site, pay for 4 get 5). The apartment was terrific, we had our own kitchen, lounge, dining area, bathroom and bedroom, with the bedroom and... more
