We stayed here six nights on our honeymoon in early April 2008. The hotel was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. The rooms were immaculate. The bed was super cozy, especially after 36 hours of traveling to Queenstown from Florida. The bathroom was great and the jet tub was large with a color TV (one problem we had was that the... more

My wife and 2 children stayed at the Soffitel for a single night in jan 08. We had an internet reservation through Accor. The check in was efficient although upon arrival the hotel layout is odd with the check in at the rear through some glass doors. The room was absolutely luxurious with 2 double beds, including a beatiful spa... more

My brother and I stayed at the hotel on Saturday night in January in Queenstown, the hotel looks great on paper as "the only 5 star hotel in Queenstown" but there are much better options. Some of the issues were; We checked in at 12, told the rooms would not be ready till 2, came back at 2 and still... more

This is an amazing hotel and definitely far surpasses any other Sofitel I've stayed in. Likes: - Amazing room - Real coffee-machine in-room - Very nice bathroom with L'Occitane amenities - Good location, very central - Friendly helpful staff - Good Restaurant Dislikes: - Nothing more

We stayed at the Sofitel for a week in November of 2007. The location is superb. It is within a very short walk of several excellent restaurants suiting all tastes. It is also a five-ten minute walk to the waterfront at Queenstown Bay and also the gondola base and nearby hiking trails. We were able to walk out of the... more

was a lovely room but we stayed at another hotel first, as $1100 a night is not in our price range each night. the other hotel(st Mortiz) has better view if you get a lake view. getting back to the sofitel, our tv in the bathroom was upside down, yes you read correct, upside down, we asked to get it... more

One word says is all … WOW!! My wife and recently vacationed in New Zealand and we spent 4 nights at the Sofitel and enjoyed our stay. Everything about this hotel is first class and you will not be disappointed. From the modern décor of the lobby to the soft comfortable bed this hotel has it all. Flat screen plasma... more

The TripAdvisor scale only goes to 5. That's not high enough for the Sofitel Queenstown. This room had more luxury amenities in it than any hotel I've ever been in - separate lighting zones for every area of the room (sounds silly to comment on but it means every area gets the light it needs), plasma TV, espresso maker (with... more

We stayed in an upper floor lakeview room at the end of May 2007. Sofitel Queenstown deserves the good reviews it has received on TA. Location is great – right in town, but one block back from the busy streets, so suffers from little noise. Paying extra for a lake view isn’t worth it though. The view is only of... more
