We had booked to stay at Hulbert House for 3 nights in February having been impressed by the beautiful house and rooms highlighted on its website that also stated that it met the standards of Heritage Inns. It also calls itself "luxury accomodation"
On arrival we saw at once that things were not as we had been led to believe. The gardens and exterior of the house were clearly in need of attention and on entering the house we found that the owner used the hall as a living area as he had a chair and television set situated by the woodburner which was alight. Having seen our room with its en-suite facilities we felt that this particular accomodation was not suitable and that we had been misled by the information given on the website. Having stayed at a number of Heritage Inns B and B's we were well aware of what standards we should expect and this certainly did not meet them.
