I had a garden apartment, which meant no view but no noise, either, and that was fine with me. I had plenty of room, a comfortable bed (always a plus, never a given), and I thought the place was clean and well furnished enough. I wanted a convenient place from which to go hiking without a car, and this motel... more

Very disappointing. Owners very offhand, room was not clean and also a bit shabby. Wouldn't recommend it - lots of other better places nearby. more

We chose this place because of it's proximity to the city centre and for the views, as we are both photographers. We booked and prepaid unit 5 for our 4 teenages and Unit 9 with its own private balcony overlooking the mountains for ourselves. When we arrived it was about 6.30 and although still daylight reception had closed and there... more

Hi there We honeymoon'd NZD in May this year. We spent 10 days in the south islands. The worst part of the honeymoon for us was the Caples Court Motel. Their service was horrible and the rooms were small and suffocating....compared to rest of NZD, where people were incredibly polite and friendly, these guys were not!!! The view from the... more

I little dissappointed after staying here. Very dated decor. The couch was horrible. Almost didn't want to sit on it. The location is great. View is good, but tiny balcony and needs a varnish and coat of paint. Microwave was from 1980s. Bathroom tiny. Very basic. 2 star. On the plus side, the owners were pleasant. Good location, basic accomodation. more

This is our second stay here, our first being three years ago. The best thing about this motel is the location.....slightly elevated above Queenstown so many of the units have good views, but not too far out of town. However, I was surprised to see that not much had been done to modernise it, despite the fact that it was... more

My partner and I stayed at Caples Court for 5 days in Feb 2009. The complex is centrally located within walking distance to restaurants and shops and with great views. We stayed in unit 8 which is a 1 bedroom (queen & single bed),ensuite bathroom (shower over bath not suitable for disability or elderly), lounge/kitchen/dining combined and has a fold... more

We booked two double self-catering studios for three nights (we were two couples travelling together). We paid NZD$150 per studio per night. The rooms were modern, well-appointed, spacious and very pleasant. We could walk into the main streets in a matter of a few minutes, and the main Post Office is not far (walking distance also). Parking for our rental... more

My husband and I stayed at the Caples Court Hotel in late August 2008. We stayed in unit 8 which had a good size living room, attached kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. There was also a balcony with a partial view of the lake and downtown area and a view of the gondola. While we generally liked the hotel, here is... more

My wife and I stayed in Unit 4. IWe sat on the balcony in the sun with a nice chilled white wine and watched the sun going down over Queenstown. The views are excellent with lots of windows looking out on 2 sides, the unit was clean and very spacious and we didn' t experience any traffic noise. Yes, the... more
