I booked this on lastminute.com on the morning of our stay. The price was discounted from $255 NZ dollars to $130 NZ dollars per night and we booked a one bedroom apartment for our 3 night stay. We arrived a bit earlier that expected but they were quite happy for us to leave our bags in the room even though... more

We booked this apartment for 5 nights on wotif for 138 nz dollars a night and were very impressed for what we got. Definitely book the one bed apartment, rather than the studio, as you absolutely must enjoy the stunning uninterupted view of the mountains and lake, i think these apartments probably have the best view of any accommodation in... more

The HighView was a wonderful place to stay for a few days, after much moving from place to place on our honeymoon. Although we arrived after the day manager had left, the instructions for checking in was easy and stress free. We had been booked for a studio room however we were kindly upgraded to an apartment, as it was... more

Please do yourself a big favour and pay the little extra for an apartment - you will not regret it, especially when you see that the stuido rooms overlook the carpark! The one bedroom is a perfect size, you can look at the view from your bed (there is a fold out/sliding wall to separate the bedroom from living area... more

Uncomfortable booking experience. Awoke to internal fire alarm on all three mornings of our stay betwwen 5-6 am which, beyond being excruciatingly loud, proved to be very upsetting to my 80 year old mother. There is NO night manager on the premises. My complaints were dismissed by the day manager with PROMISES that the Hotel Manager would be contacting me.... more

We stayed here for two nights in one of the studios which are at the back of the property and don't have a view of the lake. We don't mind not having a view of the lake as it's easy enough just to walk out of your room and have a look. For what we paid, it was very good... more

We stopped here while on our 1 month long honeymoon to Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. Came in from Rotorua for a planned 3 nights but stepped it up to a night extra, just because High View was so nice and comfortable. This newly made, modern 1 bedroom apartment was overlooking the lake and mountains. It sure was a... more

We were supposed to be staying at Peppers, but they double booked us (despite us booking 7 months in advance) & so they moved us to a 2 bedroom appartment at Highview. I was initially dubious as the place is new & there weren't many reviews on here. However, any concerns disappeared as soon as we opened the door. The... more

For the price, this place is ridiculously posh. High-end appliances, awesome views, mod furniture. We stayed in the apartments in November 2007. It is essential to get the one-bedrooms (as opposed to the studios) to get a nice view (which given how breathtaking the scenery is, would be a shame to miss). more
