An airplane mechanical problem caused us to miss our overnight cruise in Milford Sound. However, hosts Charmaine & Roy Sutherland helped ease the disappointment with their wonderful hospitality. Upon our arrival, we were offered an upgrade to the master suite at no additional charge. We especially liked the complimentary juice, wine, chocolates and shortbread cookies.

Speaking of food, the gourmet breakfasts were delicious with cereal, omelets, sausages, bacon, yoghurt, juice, coffee and tea! The portions were huge so we had the leftovers for lunch.

Located just 10 minutes (by car) outside of Queenstown's restaurant, bar and retail scene, it is also convenient if you want to visit Wanaka and the Gibbston Valley/Central Otago region for wine tasting and outdoor activities. The B&B has beautiful views of the Lake Hayes area, the grounds are gorgeously landscaped, and the interiors are tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable.
