When you stay on Stewart Island the only place for you is Sails Ashore. Peter and Iris proved the consummate and ever amenable hosts, amid splendid surroundings and views. Sails Ashore combines wonderful accommodation, with fantastic hosts and the added perk of the trip included to Ulva Island. It would be easy to miss this as there is so much to see on Stewart Island but the trip to Ulva was a highlight of my stay. We were really impressed with tours by Sails Ashore, Iris & Peter Tait. Didn't know what to expect going to Stewart Island but their local knowledge of history, native birds & trees blew us away. There's a range of accommodation available in Oban, the township & surrounding area. Or just go for the day. We flew over but you can... more

we had a nice stay here...bedrooms are beautifully appointed, although noisy if someone is watching tv in the lounge. Expected a cooked breakfast for the price so was very disappointed when only a standard continental was served. Hosts are lovely and views are spectacular more
