We arrived on Stewart Island via Stewart Island Flights which is a small airplane that fits about 6-8 people and whose air traffic control consist of the pilot contacting the van driver on the ground about which way the wind was blowing...lol! For those who don't like flying I wouldn't recommend...very scary. On the bright side, the view was amazing and it was quick. Took only 20 min as opposed to the Stewart Island ferry which takes an hour and I hear is a rough ride.
Not many places to choose from on Stewart Island, but Greenvale is a wonderful place to stay. It is a home far away from home and Wendy the host of this B&B is a charming lady who made our stay on the island pleasurable.
There are only two rooms at this B&B. Both have king beds, one has king + single. Each room has a tv, small table and chairs and their own bathrooms. All rooms have a balcony with a fabulous view of the ocean and the island on the horizon. There is a common dinning/sitting...
