When we rang at short notice Merle could not fit us in the main house but offered us her bungalow around the corner that used to be her holiday home. We booked it and were pleased we did when we got there. We had it to ourselves. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped and in the moring we walked to House of Wood 1 minute away for breakfast. You have a choice of cooked breakfast if you wish. We asked for some bacon to make a sandwiche and were served a huge plateful of delicious thick bacon, and a canadian guy that was staying got the biggest sausages served to him that I have ever seen at a B& B. Merle and hubby Cliffe are lovely hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting to them. The House of Wood is located two minutes stroll from all amenities and the lake in a quiet street. more
