My partner and I stayed here for two nights during our recent trip to New Zealand. We managed to find a good deal through their website which included breakfast. Walking into the hotel and through the corridors to our room it reminded us of a building that could have once been a hospital. I think this feeling was due to... more

We stayed here for one night as we got a good deal on the millenium website incl. breakfast. Arrived late and rang to let the hotel know, they were very helpful. Bathrooms were redone and very nice, rooms a good size and is good if traveling to Milford Sounds. The hotel staff booked our boat tour which was a good... more

Stayed here for one night! Not value for money, decore in room was poor, fridge was noisy, spotlight outside the window made it feel like we were sleeping in daylight. Only a double bed! The view was over looking a car park, not as stated (maincured gardens)! more

The best point is the staff, really kind, helpful, ... and certainly the restaurant. The worst point is ... well ... the room old-fashion, no wifi connexion (pc available), laundry service only avaiable into "help yourselves" version, a small car park (you can find a car park at the back but no indication available). And Kingsgate is "far" from the... more

The hotel is situated opposite Lake Te Anau our room did have a view of the lake. However there was a musty smell in the room and the room was tired and needed decorating. Having said that though it does represent good value for money. The hotel is a flat easy walk into the town of Te Anau. more

Very comfortable stay. Brilliant location right on the lake and a 5 min walk on the lakefront to the town centre and the Real Journeys office (from where you can book all you Milford Sound cruise). The hotel has a very quaint feel and is unpretentious, but it is well maintained and pleasant. Reception is friendly and helpful and they... more

Wish I had stayed longer than one night in Te Anau. The township was very small - but made up for it in terms of friendliness. The staff at Kingsgate hotel were nice and accommodating. The hotel was a little further from the centre of town - but still only a 10 minute walk - but in the pouring rain... more

Ideally located a short pleasurable walk from town by the lakeside. No lift in hotel but the hotel is only two storey. Rooms good, clean, comfortable. Hotel bar closed too early as did the town of Te Anau. more
