We stayed in Poppy's Cottage during our road trip in August. The cottage is situated on a farm just outside Armidale. Upon arrival, the very friendly and hospitable Poppy showed us to the room, which is situated to the rear of the house. All the small things were taken care of, and there were even books and board games to... more

After extensively travelling through-out Europe and staying in many B&B's we found Poppy & Jake's cottage a wonderful, rustic experience and a "not to be missed" stay. Poppy's wonderful personality made us feel right at home and the cottage complimented her personality. We thought that we must have been one of her first ever guests as she was keen to... more

Delightful small cottage in owner's garden. Very well-equipped but you have to accept that it is small particularly if there are more than two of you. Owner and husband friendly and helpful. Delicious and plentiful breakfast in garden. As we drove towards it on the first night sunset on the extinct volcano was like our own personal Ayers Rock. more

Can't recommend this bed & breakfast highly enough. We were looking for romantic cottage in the Australian countryside to contrast with our hectic lives in the city. With warm hospitality, delicious food, and a delightful hostess - Poppys Cottage was just perfect for our weekend away. We've stayed at B&Bs all over the world, but this was a very special... more

I'm stunned by some negative comments I read on this website about Poppy's Cottage in Armidale. My husband and I stayed here recently and could not fault it. The host, Poppy, is a delightful, warm and vivacious lady who runs an excellent business and went well out of her way to make us feel welcome. The setting is divine, the... more

Poppy's Cottage was a lovely picturesque farmstay cottage that made our weekend away just wonderful. Being part of a working farm with great views, walks up the hill, and the farmyard and house animals to entertain us was a perfect break away from the city. The host Poppy and her husband were so kind and lovely to us and just... more

Terrible place, all that money for what can only be described as a dingy pokey cottage with an uncomfortable bed and a very unwelcoming host. Breakfast was nice but still don't understand why we had to have it outside in the cold with their three dogs fighting at our feet and upsetting the table. more
