The Cally, as it is affectionately nicknamed, is a wonderful B&B - clean, comfortable and a little quirky. The 2 bathrooms are shared by the 4 or 5 rooms, but spotless, it always felt like we were the only ones using them. Owner Hugh (wife Barb was away when we stayed) is friendly, interesting and gets all the guests together in the evening over a glass or two, and his famous Anzac biscuits (bet you can't stop at one!). Breakfast included in the price is a generous continental of fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, toast or for only a little extra Hugh will cook you one of his gourmet specialities.
In addition they run a lovely little coffee shop with a twist - displayed on the walls are typical paintings from many of Broken Hill's local artists - choose the ones you like and there are numbered brochures giving the locations of the various galleries where you can view more of the artists' works.
