We were very grateful to get to spend the night at the Amaroo as there had been a mix up with our booking and it seemed that the Amaroo room we stayed in was the last room to be had in the whole of Dubbo. The room was clean and tidy with plenty of room for us to set up... More

I stayed at the Amaroo with my 12 year old for two nights recently. Terrific location, friendly and helpful reception and while the room was basic (as expected for the good value price), it was warm clean and comfortable. No complaints.

The pub itself is a bit run down, but the accomodation is really nice. The rooms have a quaint old charm to them and are sizable enough. Cheap accomodaion, but pretty central and lots of shops, cafes etc around. We had dinner at the Milestone Hotel (very nice too) as the bistro wasn't open, so cannot comment of the food,... More

I recently celebrated Australia day at this location and was appalled at the service of the bouncers, who are there to serve and protect the Amaroo AND its patrons, My partner was king hit, in the back of the head by a complete unkown for absolutly no reason at all, and when asking the bouncers for help non were willing..... We stayed for two nights and it was the great start to our holiday. Chris (staff) was extremely helpful and kind. We felt very welcome. Unfortunately we stayed on a Sunday night so the kitchen was closed and no breakfast Monday morning. However Chris was very helpful to point out a few nice places to eat. We did get to... More

We arrived in Dubbo and this "hotel", which is actually part of a vibrant pub, was in a good spot and seemed to be well priced (We paid AUD$80 off the street), our room was on the third floor (we asked to be away from the noise of the bar, and couldn't hear anything overnight). The room was small, but... More

The Amaroo Hotel has a band on Friday nights that plays until 4am in the morning. If you want to sleep don't stay there as our room was shaking with the noise. They don't tell you about the band when you book.
