The Medina is an excellent apartment-hotel in Wollongong. We arrived on a freezing cold night to a warm greeting and toasty apartment (thanks to the efficient reverse-cycle aircon!). I come from the local area and i know the reputation some of the other hotels have. Wollongong really lacks decent places to stay.. until now. I stayed at the medina apartments for a week and it was excellent. Couldn't fault anything about it. Great location, 5 minutes to the beach, with very clean large rooms with fully equipped kitchen with washer dyer, and balcony. Would be happy to stay there again. more

My previous stay at the Medina was for all intents & purposes a mini-break from a crap job, to soak in some rays at the beach & to kick up my feet…& to spend time with my girlfriend of course. This was a pretty near perfect place to stay. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment. There is a large sitting area (sofa, dining table, work desk) with terrace and a kitchen area - fridge .freezer, oven, microwave etc. all supplied. You get a small free carton of milk when you arrive, and the usual minibar stuff which you pay... more
