Billed as 4.5 star, the Mackay Resort Motel could not be further from a resort if it tried. Terrible pokey rooms with 80's decor and substandard fittings - my room was half painted with patches all over the wall.

Situated directly on Nebo Road you are unlikely to get any sleep as you are serenaded by trucks racing up and down outside all night.

I stayed for 1 night then packed my bags and left.

Accommodation in Mackay is always hard to find, and you may find yourself here as a last resort. Be warned. more
