My husband and I stayed at Vacy Hall with a large group of family and friends to celebrate a wedding. Toowoomba was chosen as a central location for all. Vacy Hall was a personal recommendation. The weekend was perfect, thank you Graham, Lee and Liz. The guesthouse is meant for old-fashioned relaxation - stroll the lovely gardens, explore the beautiful... more

My husband and I stayed here overnight in October 2009 when we went to se Cats at the Empire Theatre. Our teenaged children came too and loved and appreciated the place as much as we did. This is not the place to stay if you're a fan of sterlie, urban hotel chains... this is a step back in time and... more

Dominique, Thanks for such a wonderful review. I was surprised by your skill at capturing the essense and sense of time of place experienced at Vacy Hall. It demonstrates your capacity to spin a great story ... and I can now see why you work as international magazine journalist. It was lovely to meet you and your family and I'm...

Vacy Hall is a beautiful historic mansion with accommodation to suit different purposes. We just needed a room for the night and booked via the internet (Wotif) so got a good rate. We enjoyed it so much we stayed another night. The owner/manager was very helpful in advising great restaurants and places to visit. The timeless architecture was a pleasure.... more

We stayed only one night but absolutely loved it! The room was beautiful, quiet and spotless, the bed very comfortable and the ambience was just amazing. So much eye for detail. The owners were friendly. Breakfast, to an extra cost was good and to have it on the wide verandah in the morning sun was just wonderful. If you like heritage... more

I stayed at Vacy Hall for 3 nights and really loved it. It was very relaxing and one could imagine what life was like over a century ago. The room was immaculate and cosy. It was not cold enough to light the fire but in winter it would be wonderful. I enjoyed having a truly olde world breakfast on the... more

Heritage listed and we enjoyed all the antique bits and pieces. Our suite(with large brass king bed and very deep bath) was cosy with central heating and electric blankets(open fire set but we did not need to light it).Toowoomba was very cold(middle of winter),otherwise the wide verandahs and the gardens would have had greater appeal!.Breakfast was great and the porridge was... more

I cannot even imagine the reason for the negative reviews. Seems these folks are spoiled rotten and overly demanding. We LOVED Vacy Hall: Room was immaculate, cozy; a fire was waiting to be lit in the evening; warm, fluffy robes in the cupboard; delicious and generous breakfast. The buiding is gorgeous, with loving attention to detail. Staff were friendly, accomodating,... more

I wanted to book somewhere special for my husband's birthday and had heard wonderful things about Vacy Hall from some friends who stayed there on their wedding night and really enjoyed the attention to detail ... like a personal greeting on the blackboard ... fresh roses in the room ... heart shaped chocolates on the pillows ... even special bride... more

We stayed at Vacy Hall looking for an alternative to local hotel accommodation and, in particular, an upmarket weekend away. The promotional material for Vacy displayed lovely rooms and common areas promising the experience of luxury and romance in a historical Toowoomba homestead. The cost of accommodation is in the higher price range and we happily paid looking forward to... more

We chose Vacy Hall in preference to a motel because we were seeking atmosphere and personal service. Overall we were disappointed with the offhand manner of the hosts and the lack of facilities that one would expect of a claimed 4 star establishment. For example: Our suite lacked privacy and seclusion, as the curtains were inadequate. The bathroom for our... more

Vacy Hall is over 100 years old and is listed on the register of the National Estate as a building of architectural significance. Furnished with an extensive collection of Australian antiques and with beautifully decorated rooms, Vacy Hall is very different to a motel experience. If guests are seeking modern facilities such as spas and cable TV then they may...
