The Prince is a lovely, funky, very Melbourne hotel in a great location that I personally love to stay at. Its very stylish but the reviews are correct when they say its looking a little tired. It needs a good paint and some of the fittings replaced. Nothing major but it definitely in need of some attention. I note the... more

We stayed here for the last night of our wedding trip and i was quite unimpressed with this hotel. this is one of Mr and Mrs Smith boutique hotels and i feel that although it is very nice it is just not worth the money. The rooms were slightly tatty for me chipped walls etc really annoy me as my... more

Despite arriving earlier than planned, the hotel staff were extremely accommodating. The room was stunning - beautifully decorated and the little extras really made it something special. I loved the bathrobes, the sleek bang & olufsen phone next to the bed and the gorgeous little aesop package of toiletries in the bathroom. There was a little bit of noise on... more

Geez, where does one start. One month after our trip, 4 friends and myself who stayed at the Prince are struggling to work out how the Prince is a "boutique hotel", and how it is worthy of $250/night. Do 3 apples on a ledge in reception qualify an Australian hotel to be "boutique" ?! There was nothing special about the... more

What can I say, the rooms were amazing, service excellent took my girlfriend away for a weekend way and couldnt fault the place, the price was good, booked on Wotif and got a good special, however since then have seen even better prices so shop around. Features and facilities within the rooms are cutting edge, and the restaurant is definately... more

I have stayed at THE PRINCE around 5 times prior to my last visit. My partner and I have always been very happy. We usually stay in one of the PREMIUM SUITES, which are great for 2 people and we've always received incredible service. We stayed for 2 nights in MARCH 2009 in a Deluxe Room, during Fashion Week. The... more

OK, you are in a boutique hotel at the busiest end of Fitzroy St, where it meets Acland St, in St Kilda. St Kilda is a major dining/drinking precinct south of Melbourne, by the beach. On Friday and Saturday nights, this area is alive until the early hours. So, if you book a room in the Prince on the Fitzroy... more

What an amazing hotel. Arriving past midnight and very tired I was elated to arrive at such an eye pleasing hotel. On exiting the lift I immediately felt at ease walking down the calming corridor. Entering my room I was blown away by the design. The room was spotless and inviting, the bathroom was the best I have seen in... more

There's no denying that the Prince does front a busy street and that there's a pub below some of the rooms, but the noise is not a problem with the windows closed. The upsides are plenty:- a beautifully designed hotel, close to great eateries, entertainment and shopping and with the sea sparkling at the end of the road. Too good... more
