Don't stay here!! I'd rather sleep on the beach for one night... Rude staff. Stayed there for 3 nights..what a waste of money. When I moved into the room, the owner told me that someone is gonna clean the bathroom today. Well it didn't happen...at all. The kitchen is filthy as, you're lucky when you find a fork and a... We arrived, the guy was helpfull but not overly friendly, and showed us to our rooms. Our rooms smelled like a chicken barn. I am not exagerating here, we opened the windows and doors to get the smell out, but it didnt help. the beds smelled like old beds that spent months rotting in the rain, the floor needless to... I never write reviews on here but I feel the need to warn people about this place. When I mentioned to others that I was staying at the Oslo Hotel a look of horror would appear on their faces. And I don't even understand why people have said you get what you paid for as we paid $50 for one... More

The oslo hotel is an older building in the heart of st kilda just 5 minutes from everything, shops, food, bars and the beach. The staff are friendly, theres a decent lounge room, a large courtyard great for socializing, theres numerous bathrooms and even a balcony which is rather secluded at night, a great place to chill. I've stayed at... More

The Oslo Hotel on Grey Street is almost an institution in St Kilda. The last time I stayed here was some six years ago for a month or so while I was getting settled into Melbourne. I’ve read a lot of the reviews about the Oslo and it’s often the case that people who feel aggrieved about a place are... More

It must take a lot of effort to maintain a place in such a sad, awful and neglected state. There was a sense that absolutely nobody cared a hoot about it. I'll bet it has a lousy reputation in the otherwise very pleasant and well-to-do neighbourhood. The manager seemed surprised when I said I'd take the room, perhaps as I'm... More

Has a massuve potential to make it great but I don't think the owner knows much of the industry! Almost forgot to say that the rates... More

What an awful place. The location is pretty good but everything else is rubbish. I've stayed in loads of hostels and this was definitely the dirtiest. There were stains all over the roof and burn marks on the carpet. Bugs everywhere, crashes and thuds all through the night. The bathroom is filthy and shared with the rest of the floor,... More

I stayed here for 2 weeks in January...god knows how I stayed that long. The place looks like a mental asylum from the outside, and isn't much better inside. The manager is unfriendly and strange, and doesn't seem to like backpackers very much. He shouted at us for drinking in the courtyard and threatened to kill us! Not very pleasant,... More
