PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING AND AVOID TO SPOIL YOUR HOLIDAYS!!! We spent 3 nights there and were treated as if we were money. We went to eat at the hotel restaurant and asked for fresh juice, they gave us very tasteless mango juice and told us that mango in maafushi is not sweet, we had the same juice in another part of the island and it was as we expected. Every time we sit down they insistently ask us if we want water, and even if we say no, they leave the water on the table and don't include it in the bill, as soon as we get up they run after us saying we have to pay for the water, obviously we told them that the water was still closed on the table and we didn't pay. They even charge a 10% service charge like everywhere else but they never bring us change and keep it for themselves. They cook without head cover or gloves and the food was of very poor quality. We asked to join an excursion at the reception 30 minutes before it started and they told us it was not possible to organise it, so we went to the beach, where there is a kaani beach, asked them directly and they organised it for us right away (they were very angry about the attitude of the receptionist and told us that receptionist did not even want to make a phone call). The night was a circus: very loud music from 9pm until 1am and it was not possible to sleep in the room or talk on the balcony because of the noise. Room service did not replace towels, beach towels or toilet the day of departure they told us that some beach towels were missing, so we had to waste time explaining that we hadn't received them the day before. And obviously they asked us to leave a good review in booking, this makes me think they think we are stupid. Avoid this place.

Absolutely disgusting and terrible experience! Even before checkin the staff comes to you with a buffet of excursion and push you take it even through the weather forecast is horrible. Firstly, I was assured that my room will be upgraded to Seaview rooms in any one of their property which wasn't done. Next, I was pushed to book a snorkeling excursion with them. They overbooked and on 29th December morning when the weather forecast is not right, they ask randomly to chug the trip so that they are over crowded in the speedboat but not ready to give the refund. We were in the middle of sea storm, witnessed shark biting co-passengers. Unprofessional and untrained tour guides. Once we reached back the hotel with lives in hand, they offered peanut refund to us. Their staffs are extremely ill mannered. Atleast dozens of indecent Bangladeshis work in the hotel who prefer to take care of themselves more than the guests. After paying almost around 160 euros per night per room, such a pathetic service and poor management.

There are multiple Kaani properties on Maafushi, e.g. Grand, Palm Beach, Village, and the Beach is the step child of them all! It has a great room, no questions, and a better location than Village if not Grand and Palm Beach. Internal amenities like towels, soaps and external services like transport, housekeeping, and breakfast are common across them, so you are still getting a pretty good deal. What prompted the perception is that this hotel doesn't have its own reception and restaurant so you have to go to the nearest Kaani Grand. No elevators as well. Wi-Fi was patchy and weak as well on the 2nd floor we stayed in but that's a minor quibble on a beach vacation. The hotel was listed as four stars on Google and Agoda but compared to Indian four stars, it didn't feel like that. No microwave or iron board, for instance, and the quality of soap was poor (one of those sticky ones which doesn't wash off easily and gives sticky after feeling). Compared to prices on other Kaani hotels, this was still a good deal, but you may consider Grand and Palm Beach if you get a good deal.

Worst customer service ever. People there don't know how to talk. They cancelled our return boat to male airport and didn't even bother to inform us. Upon asking they behaved very rudely and forcing us to book a private boat. Don't even try to come up with a solution. Do not book this hotel. Rooms are fine and clean.

This is my 2nd stay on this property and if you're looking for an affordable stay in Maldives without compromising the room size this is great. The highlight of the stay is basically the amazing friendly staff of our Tour. Thank you so much to Marc & Amo for the spectacular video shots during our visit although the guys who did the real break experience in sharks must polish their video shots i wasn't satisfied with his shots underwater unless your willing to give an extra penny. More so i applaud the great staffing in the breakfast room Aditya & Ditya for well looking after me during my whole stay. amazing team indeed! To top it off the you must try the Sampa Spa and look for Nini she has been my therapist and offered a 20% disc in my whole treatment stay. Also i commend Tiger the Guest relations services team for taking good care of all my tours.

Do not believe the pictures of the palm trees in front of the hotel. It no longer looks like that. There is now a sand road in front. With restaurants lined up across the street. You than have to cross another street to get to the water sports. The breakfast that was included was at the other Kanni hotel. There was no 24/7 front deck. No pool table. The phones in the room can not be used to call the front desk. Also located at the other hotel. My room was clean & comfortable. It was just not what I was lead to believe I purchased

Near the hotel are are lot of food restorants and other shops. And the prices are also very good. People are kind and helpfull. Marina is near and you can go to resorts every day with speed boats. Avoid unless you want to pay for amenities that are never provided. This was our 1st time in the Maldives, and in Maafushi...trying to go with a budget hotel, yet still have some amenities like room service, an in-house restaurant... because we were on vacation and like to relax ..like most people on vacation. As mentioned here by previous reviewers, and for their sister hotel Kaani Grand, guests arriving simultaneously are sat down and told , not spoken to...from the manager about the Do's and Don'ts of the resort. And yes, they take forever to get you to your room. You are also told you can't bring in outside food to your hotel. What?! This isnt an all inclusive resort. How does a "rule" get made up upon a guests arrival? I don't think any hotel can say no outside food. That just seemed like a plot to get more $$$ out of guests. Although their advertisement on virtually all sites lists a restaurant, room service and reception...this is not available at this hotel. You have to have breakfast at a different hotel. Hello, some of us like to eat in our rooms especially after travelling for more than 20 hours. Next, the room service doesn't exist. I called the manager Tiger to complain and he went off how he "told me" it's from 8-3. No sir, you are talking about the cleaning staff and servicing rooms not "room service"...you would need to walk to the main hotel and order food there...hence ..that's not room service. And then, it's mentioned upon arrival that there's no reception. Don't forget, NO OUTSIDE food...Once again, you have to leave your hotel and walk to another one... because the hotel doesn't even have their phones connected to be able to call the main hotel to reach reception. I realize come people may not care about putting in the extra effort to walk to a different place for everything. But on vacation, I'm paying for these amenities and want to relax. I shouldn't have to help the staff or hotel do their jobs. When I told the manager I was already paying a lot of $$$ to be there for almost a week..he said no I wasn't. I'm sorry, he must make a lot money to be rude to customers and act like it's so cheap to stay in these hotels. That was big turn off. The room is clean. I agree it's noisy. Especially because their is no fan in the bathroom but instead a vent in wall that connects to the hallway. This picks up every sound from the hall. Also they can here you in the bathroom...no privacy whatsoever. The staff , especially the manager need to learn how to speak with hotel guests. More importantly, address the false advertising issues Instead of arguing with guests and getting defensive... have a reception for the hotel. Stop being cheap. Restaurants outside the hotel owned by the hotels are not the same as in house restaurants. It's a shame this was our first experience in Maafushi and in the Maldives. We won't be supporting the Kaani branches in any way. Not, that the staff or manager care about customer satisfaction anyhow. I guess some customers just go along with the omissions from the advertisements because they don't know what else to do. If you pay for a service that service should be offered.

A vacation in Maldives was planned hurriedly. On suggestion from an acquaintance we decided to stay in the hotel for two nights. It was almost on the beach with adequate space for its clients and multiple types of arrangements including recliners, swings and chairs. Maafushi island has many budget water sports activities including parasailing and Snorkeling. The beach was good. The speed boat to Maafushi is a paid , enjoyable ride. The ride from Maafushi for Snorkeling was great as they took us to three -four different sites including a sand island. It was value for money. In the evening we did parasailing which was as a couple. Direct booking with the agency and not through the hotel is suggested as it is cheaper. We walked in the Island many times. In the evening, there was good music. One part of the island has public park and areas. The meals provided were not great. Staff was cordial. AC not great. Toiletries average. Staff was courteous.
