Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the best place if you are looking for budgeted option. The place is calm and peaceful with very cooperative staff. few rooms have open showers (choose that if available) Don't go if you want something near the beach

I booked Narnia based on reviews. I wonder where the good rating coming from. To start, upon arrival the receptionist, who also happened to be the all-around guy, refused to give us a room bc the owner (who was in Male and would not answer calls) did not inform receptionist of our arrival. We sat there frustrated and hungry and tired waiting for the owner to answer calls. Despite the confirmation and my bank receipt, we sat there waiting. Finally the owner confirmed, so we were ushered to our room. The bed was made but it obviously were used linen with stains and candy residues. There were candy wrappers on the floor. I asked Islam (the receptionist) for a broom and I swept the floor myself. The bathroom had some hair on the shower floor. The breakfast is mediocre— one hotdog and two toasted bread. No coffee. Coffee is on the counter for the guests to make but the canister was empty with only hardened coffee sitting at the bottom of the canister. Its lose instant coffee that everyone dug in to make their own cups. Worse was, when we checked out, Islam asked $7 for “services fee” per owner. What services!!!! Eventhough I paid every fees and taxes on my booking. Robbed us!!!! And mind you, I tipped heavily bc money helps. Also, the hotel is a walk away from the jetty, but quiet a distance from bikini beach. There is no view as the rooms do not have windows. I stayed in room 107. Please save your money and book somewhere else. There are better hotels a few steps away from bikini beach. Trust me, you will enjoy better.

We stayed in 5 hotels in Maafushi during our 8 days there. Narnia was definitely the best. Small, friendly, clean, professional, good sized rooms. Staff were brilliant, helped organise fishing trip for us and then cooked a wonderful meal with our catch. Overall, 5 star service in a small, budget hotel, goes beyond expectations.

We were welcomed at the jetty by Reubel, who escorted us to their little hotel, Narnia. The rooms are clean, 2 minutes from the jetty. A little away from the hustle but not too far. If you're on a budget and would spend most time out on excursions, it's a great option. We were there for 1 night only. Decent breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Value for money.

Beachy feel hotel with sand under your feet, close and helpful hospitality. Breakfast was simple and nice. Free flow of coffee and tea which is a great plus. Loved their concept. Would definitely return again.

We recently spent three nights there and were treated very well by staff and management. From picking us up, carrying our luggage, allowing us to choose our room once there...even a courtesy late checkout on the day we left. They made every effort to ensure we had a good stay. Unfortunately a large group of Chinese tourists arrived on our last day and were incredibly noisy and disrespectful such as to spoil the other guests’ holidays....not the fault of the hotel but I wish they had said something to the group. Regardless, a great budget option in Maafushi with a good central location. I would stay there again for sure...

Narnia is a pleasant budget hotel. Our room and bathroom were large compared to many budget hotels. The communal reception/breakfast area is nicely decorated in local style and there was always a staff member on hand to provide any assistance we needed. Breakfast changed from day to day but was generally unexciting. There have been some modifications since some of the photos - all downstairs rooms now have a small high walled outdoor area in front of the sliding glass door entries. This makes them more private but there is little natural light to these rooms. The two upstairs rooms are much brighter. The location is very convenient to the ferry, However, with hindsight I wish I'd chosen a hotel closer to the bikini beach for swimming and more restaurants. Walking wasn't far but seemed further in the hot humid weather.

Overall, it is positive. Just a bit issue with the bed mattress, but staff changed it the next day. I am sorry I didn't catch his name, but he is absolutely amazing hotel worker here. He is housekeeping, waiter, maintenance, and porter. Thank you so much for his service, we did have a great time in Narnia. :)
