Walked in to this Motel on the basis of appearance and location. It is a couple of blocks from Victoria Street, the Main Street of Wanganui, off the main Highway.
Paid NZD115 a night which we thought was good value for a 4.5 star motel. Room was spacious and had really good lighting (we hate rooms which are lit like caves) and had a full kitchen if you want to cook your own (this is pretty standard in NZ)
Motel appears to be fairly new and everything was in excellent condition. Although it's in a reasonably busy street the room was excellently soundproofed and we didn't hear a thing.
No restaurant on site however the hotel lists a number of local restaurants with both delivery and charge back facilities and its an easy walk into town. We took the owners recommendation for take away "fush and chups" and yes the little fish shop on Victoria Street opposite KFC is the place to go.
All in all this motel was a good pick with nothing we could...
