We would highly recommend Mulryan’s. It was one of the best places we stayed on our trip of New Zealand and Australia. My wife and I stayed at the end of May and found the accommodations excellent. Their rooms are small, but very comfortable. The Magnolia Room has a very small private bathroom. The doors to the bathroom for the Magnolia Room have etched glass, which does not allow for complete privacy. But it was nice to have a bathroom in the room. The Rose Room does not have an attached bath. The bathroom is located across the hall, but is much larger and no etched glass on the doors.

Mulryan’s is located on a small farm. There are sheep, goats, donkeys, and chickens. The house and grounds are very well kept. It is truly a country home, as their name implies. It is a short drive (about 15 minutes) to downtown Whangarei.
