For the price it is by far the best value motel I have ever stayed at. We had the spa room, the room was clean, comfortable and very very nice. I selected the Coleraine based on previous reviews on Trip Advisor. I have to say I was disappointed. The road noise is considerable and with no airconditioning, would be unbearable over the summer months with windows open. Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our NZ trip just so we could take the children on the tranzalpine train there and back. Definately the "best" motel in Greymouth (not saying much) but also the most expensive, I'm guessing around NZ$40 to $50 more expensive than other motels. Not for backpackers. If you're looking for a bit of luxury this is the place and was just what we needed after a few nights in very average motels. more

We stayed for one night having spent the previous 11 nights in 11 different Motels across New Zealand. The Coleraine was a little more expensive than the rest but it was worth it. Two couples passing through town and needed a place to stay. It was a two bedrom apartment which was well apointed. The place looked brand new and all the furniture was clean and well looked after. Nice and quiet at night time so good sleep and very comfortable pillows. more
