We stayed with Glen & Alison at Maryglen Homestay during our trip to New Zealand. Glen & Alison are wonderful hosts, taking quite a bit of time to spend with us, just to chat, make us feel welcome, giving us lots of tips. If you want to stay alone, don't stay here. But this is a good place to get to know some friendly New Zealanders. They have three rooms at the B&B - two rooms are located on the patio and the room we stayed in was upstairs across from the hosts. Our room was labeled as having a Garden View, but we could see the Ocean directly from our window; since Maryglen is located on a hillside, there is a great view from the B&B over the ocean. The room was very clean and comfortable, but the room and bathroom were a bit small. Breakfasts were continental, but the food was very good. more
