Although the accomodation is a couple of kilometres out of town, that's no real problem - Kaikoura hardy has a traffic or parking problem. We stayed for one night at The Fairways during the winter season. The apartment was of an exceptional standard, and was well furnished, with a very cosy flame effect fire. Overall a good stay, but The Fairways is a series of furnished, sometimes third-party owned, serviced apartments, and not a hotel-type arrangement, which some guests may find off-putting. more

The complex is brand new and part of what looks like a new sub-division a few miles out of Kaikoura. Golf course on site, pond, short walk to beach although over main road. Really nice well equipped and comfortable place to stay. The food was excellent - so was the fudge. Loved the fire and the spa. Best thing about Kaikoura was the seals! more
