While the motel faces the open sea, it is partially blocked by trees and separated by a road. If i had known, i will probably stay on the second level though i doubt the scenery will very much improve. Room is not really clean, especially near the windows, around TV area and other more "hidden" areas which can be easily... more

Great Views, spacious, comfortable, clean and tidy rooms. We had a ground floor 2 bedroom. Accomodation is affordable and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Kaikoura is wonderful place and we enjoyed her beautiful wild life and friendly locals. We'll be back!! more

This motel is off the main strip very quiet. The rooms have nice kitchenettes and 5 of us shared a 2 bedroom room very comfortably. The owner made great recommendations about restaurants nearby. Most rooms have patios that face the water so you can enjoy the view from the living room area. Great price for such a fantastic location and... more

We stayed here one night, after driving from Picton and en route to Christchurch and the Whale Watch. Booked this hotel after considering a few others, like the Esplanade (Who promised great views). The hotel is at the very end of the ONLY road in town and the location iis perfect. Quiet and beautiful. We stayed there during the Sea... more

we had a first floor room with had great views over the kaikoura bay. it was on the edge of town but had a car which didn't matter much. room was quite large with separate sitting area. bathroom and kitchen at the back of the room, separated by a curtain. for 110 NZD it wasn't bad. we opted for buying... more

We loved this motel. The views were STUNNING! And we loved sitting out on the balcony watching the sun going down over the mountains. We were in a two bedroom upper level apartment. more

Loved staying at Panorama motels. We had a really special family time here. Great facilities. Amazing view across the sea to the snow clad mountains. Gary and Pam (owners) were very friendly and helped us with any queries we had about local attractions etc. Pointed us in the direction of Ohau stream to see the 35 ish baby seals cavorting... more

We had planned on spending two nights but went home the next day. The top story room was like an ice box to walk into at 3pm on a cold winters afternoon. Management had told us there was a heater in the room which we turned on immediately but after five hours and still wearing our down jackets we decided... more

As the Owner of this motel i took it as my responsibiltie to fix this problem. I have talked to the guest and have given our apologies. As there was a heater in the room but we were not informed it was not working and once relised this heater was replaced immediatley. Our units are very warm and sunny.

The Panorama is a great water front hotel which offers all the basic amenities and a great view at an affordable price. We stayed at the ground floor with our car park right outside the room which made entry/exit quick and easy. The room was a an extended studio (had a double bed and a single) with a regular TV,... more
