When we first arrived here we laughed for hours. Knowing that we were only staying for one night helped with our jovial mood. If you're looking for all modcons, then don't stay here! Terry and Bon's motel is a lovable higgedly-piggedly place with furniture garnered from, seemingly, all manner of kiwi bric-a-brac shops. The owners couldn't be nicer and the views over sea and mountain are unbeatable. more

This place, as others have written, is nothing but a joke. Totally overpriced for what you get. The place is old, run down, and beyond basic. Shabby room, beds were suposedly made, ie duvet thrown over top, sheets not touched. Owner ripped us off, overcharged us, with no compromise reached. A dodgy motelier! Do not give this guy your credit card number, he'll do what he likes with it. more

Kaikoura is a beautiful place and the people are very friendly but this motel is a disgrace. We chose to stay here after receiving a speedy and friendly reply from the owner.
