Miharotia House has to be experienced to be believed. The property is beautiful and very well kept. Our hosts couldn't do enough to help us, which was brilliant as we didn't know Kaikoura at all. Polly collected us from the train station, showed us to our room and generally did more than enough to make us feel at home. Our... more

We just left the Miharotia House, where we stayed for 2 wonderful nights. It was definitely the best B&B we stayed at whilst in NZ, in terms of accommodation, food, atmosphere & hosts. They really do far surpass most other B&B's (in NZ & elsewhere), from the breakfast menu, food presentation (& taste!), fresh flowers in the room, welcoming atmosphere,... more

I have to say that this was a highlight of our tour of the south island. The house itself is immaculate and the Main Suite was luxurious. Trevor and Polly were wonderful hosts in this stunning town. there is more to Kaikoura than whale watching. In my opinion there is no greater place where the mountains meet the sea. A... more

We spent 2 nights at Miharotia on our tour of North and South Islands. We loved Kaikoura and Miharotia. Talk about luxury - have stayed at the Wynn in Las Vegas, but I reckon this tops it! Enormous room with leather recliners, big flatscreen TV, complimentary choccies, beautiful bedding and a wonderful view. Very romantic! Forgot to mention the spa.... more

We stayed in many B&Bs in March in the South Island and Miharotia is by far the best. Trevor and Polly give a 5-star service in lovely surroundings, breathtaking views, fantastically appointed rooms - even the smallest room is huge by B&B standards and the beds are amazing. The B&B is just above the village and so with expansive views... more

This is a lovely place to stay. Trevor and Polly are great hosts and breakfast, rooms and views are tremendous. Definitely do the Whale Watch trip when you are there as the sight of the sperm whales is an experience never to be forgotten. There is also a lovely cliff walk that can be done from the house. more

Spent 6 weeks travelling around both islands of New Zealand (how lucky is that) staying in all sorts of places but I have to say that Mihatoria House stole our hearts. Kaikoura is heart-stoppingly beautiful as a place, the wildlife makes you feel as though you just stepped into a David Attenborough documentary and this house was so stunning it... more

We only got to spend 1 night at the Miharotia House in Kaikoura on our way from Marlborough to Christchurch. Polly (one of the innkeepers) was warm & welcoming & showed us to our room (the 4-poster suite) which was stylish and comfortable. A bottle of champagne was waiting for us, which we shared in the hot tub outside our... more

Great place, great cost x benefit relation. It is 20 min walk from downtown. The place is beautiful, great decorated, good taste and style. Bathroom is also good! The owners are very friendly and helpful. The view from the breaksfast room is incredible. Go with someone you like, stay more than 1 night! more
