Nice little hostel run by a really friendly couple who helped us with organising tours to Fraser Island. If you are light sleepers, don't take one of the rooms right next to the kitchen, as the walls are paper thin (don't stay in room 8, you can hear everything from the kitchen as well as the three rooms above you).... more

Excellent value for money place, close to the beach. Small kitchen, but big, atmospheric dining and common room. You can also rent DVDs for free if you have a TV and DVD player in your room. more

Probably one of my favourite hostels i've stayed in, ever. The owners are so friendly, really helpful (not sure how a previous reviewer can say otherwise). the common area with the kitchen, tv, board games etc was really cool especially with its resident possum. Booked a private double with ensuite for one night. Arrived after hours with no problem (after making arrangements with a helpful employee via e-mail). We enjoyed the retro wood-paneled room, which was fairly large. Check-out was quick but not as friendly as it could have been. Otherwise, it was a great stay. more

A really nice place to stay with an excellent atmosphere. Room was clean and tidy. Common room and kitchen were huge and really comfy. The staff (owners) were exceptionally helpful and nothing was too much hastle. Advise going on a whale watching trip if here during the season! more

It is not even close to the "best of" anything. I suspect previous reviewers were not actual lodgers... They claimed to have Internet - not true (except for the front desk, which they were not honest about). No phone. Even the TV in the main room has no volume control. Cold shower. VERY cold.
