We had already booked our 2 night stay before we read the reviews on this site. At first we were alarmed and wishing we change our bookings, but after reading the most recent reviews below we were much more optimistic. To be forewarned is indeed to be forearmed. We found the hostess to be a jovial, chatty lady with some... More

I stayed early Feb and like the other recent reviewers found that the host Patricia was a lovely old woman. Be careful when you get her talking as show has a tendancy to keep going. The room was lovely and the breakfast was good. The only issue was that my partner mentioned that it was like staying at her mothers... More

We booked our 2 night stay before reading the reviews here...so were a little nervous about meeting our hostess! I have to say she was a delight! Yes we got into trouble a few times, but that just added to the fun. Patricia is an interesting woman with a great story to tell if you take the time to sit... More

We spent a comfortable last night in Hobart prior to returning home but there were some interesting moments - bordering on hilarious at times! We can relate to a previous comment about parking our vehicle behind the house - I nervously guided my husband reversing after being given strict instructions by the owner not to do a 3 point turn.... Because of a booking stuff-up we ended up in an 'extra' room that was next to Patricia's bedroom (Manager). We were told not to snore or make any other noise. The room was small, had a double bed that was uncomfortable and so short, I'm pretty sure my partner's feet were hanging over the end. Because we had paid up... More

What a lovely little place. Close to restauarants, quiet, clean. Host a little strange - needs to take some lessons in manners. Definitely a no nonsense retired elderly school mistress in another life. My husband got 'into trouble' for driving in forward to park our car rather than reversing down long driveway..... no signage to say to reverse in and... More

The room we had was very pretty and clean, unfortunately not well heated. Good location for access to Salamanca markets (short bus trip). The owner was an elderly women who was incredibly rude when we asked for an extra heater or blanket in our room - in fact we were so shocked at her rudeness that we got the giggles... More

This bed and breakfast is clean, well-appointed, and in a quiet location. However, the hostess, Patricia, is a real challenge. On asking to see the room we were asked to sign an indemnity form before she would show it to us. When we asked her why we needed to sign it she said, "Because I said so." My husband was... More

Run by a rather abrupt elderly lady. No nonsense school mistress. Following the cool reception after we rang the doorbell we were shown to a lovely clean but very cold room. Heating was indaequate, by the second night the room was much warmer, able to take our coats off. Continenatal breakfast on the first morning and same fruit salad and... More

It was winter and I had to look for a place to stay for a few nights before flying out of Australia. When I came across the cottage, its garden attracted my attention. It was well-kept and looked lovely. Being a person who is very particular when it comes to cleanliness, I am impressed by the rooms that were very... More
