The property is of older style (at least for the room we stayed) but still rated as 'live-able'. No fanciful interiors, just bare essential plus functional. The owners of the property were helpful with sightseeing. more

The rooms are a little dated, but are very *very* clean but the service from the hosts was fantastic and surpassed my expectations. The beds were very comfy with nice warm quilts, the cot was setup before we arrived. Avenue Motel is a great place to stay thanks to the warm hospitality of Shirleen and Alvin. The rooms are cosy and spotlessly clean. One of the best places we have stayed in New Zealand.
